There are many opportunities for Young Adults to intern for the conference. Below are descriptions of each internship and who to get a hold of about the opportunity.

Jessica Gamache, Camping coordinator at the WPAUMC Conference Center, offers two internships during the summer. One internship is research based and the other would over see the day camp program.

Purpose and Description:
Interns will have opportunities to fully participate in hands on, real life ministry so that they may more fully understand the ins and outs of life in ministry. Internships will be designed to guide interns in discerning a possible call to ministry. Specifics of the experience and learning outcomes will be tailored to the intern in consultation with the host site to allow for clearer understanding of the type of ministry the intern is exploring. Possible opportunities include: teaching, preaching, worship planning, pastoral care, youth, children, administration, music, community outreach, missions and more. All internships will be located within the bounds of the Western PA Conference. Specific placements will be determined through the interview process, in consultation with the intern. Eligibility:

The program dates are set for June 1st- July 27th, 2019. Program description: The Ethnic Young Adult Internship (EYA) program is designed for young justice seekers willing to unpack their faith and identity while working with an organization engaged in addressing social injustices. Interns are placed with advocacy, public policy, nonprofit and grassroots organizations where they work four days a week.
EYAs engage in weekly seminars designed to explore a wide variety of social issues, while also learning about The United Methodist Church’s history of pursuing social holiness. Interns live in community with one another and participate in weekly devotions.
EYAs have the unique opportunity to learn about the role of Church and Society at the United Nations by visiting our UN office. EYA Interns also get to visit a UMC historical site.
Program Qualifications

- Be a member of The United Methodist Church,
- Be between 18 and 22 years old (Central Conference interns are accepted up to 24 years old),
- Be at the academic level of rising sophomore, junior or senior in college/university studies or employed full-time,
- Show active leadership and participation in the local church/community and an involvement in social justice activities;
- Self-identify as a person of colo

Bahamas Methodist Habitat:
Summer Internships at Bahamas Methodist Habitat provide an opportunity for young adults to gain experience with mission ministry and non-profit work. In addition to assisting Habitat staff with hosting volunteers, you may in projects related to administration, construction, social media & marketing, photography, worship leading, children's activities, disaster response and public speaking.
*Applicants must be high school graduates who have completed either one year of college or one year of work experience.
*Applicants are recommended to have lived outside of parent or guardian's home for one year
*Summer staff may serve for either 4 weeks or 8 weeks of the summer (sessions are pre-determined by Habitat staff)
*Habitat Willing to work with interns to make it possible for them to received College Credit
*Interns are response for their travel expense to Camp Symonette on Eleuthera, Bahamas.

*2 T-shirts
*meals while volunteer teams are serving
*group leadership, cultural, and spiritual activities
